This Crockpot Ham is one of my favorite ways to cook a ham because you only need a few simple ingredients and it turns out perfectly juicy and tender in the slow cooker!
The key to this easy Slow Cooker Ham is the glaze made with pineapple juice, brown sugar, and reserved ham juices. It’s sweet, tangy, and gives the ham a classic flavor that pairs with any sides you like!
To be totally honest, most often we are hosted for family holiday dinners, which means we don’t need to cook a ham this large, but we do it because we love it, and we love the leftovers just as much!
Crockpot Ham ingredients:

- Bone-in ham: I love using a bone-in uncut or spiral cut ham because it stays naturally moist and flavorful in the slow cooker! A boneless ham works too, but warms faster, so check the temperature early to prevent drying out.
- Brown sugar: you can swap for honey or maple syrup if you prefer.
- Ground mustard: If you don’t have it, regular Dijon mustard works too! Use 2-3 teaspoons for a similar flavor.
- Pineapple juice: We love pineapple with ham, but you can swap for apple juice or a blend if you need to.
How to make this Slow Cooker Ham recipe:
Throwing ham in a slow cooker is really the easiest dinner ever. Trust me! Still, don’t forget to check the recipe card so you don’t miss a thing.
- Rub the brown sugar mixture all over the ham.
- Whisk together pineapple juice and corn starch in a saucepan until smooth.

Tips for the juiciest Slow Cooker Ham:
- Dry the ham before rubbing it. A quick pat with paper towels helps the sugar-mustard mixture to cling instead of sliding off.
- Cooking time. Every pound of bone-in ham takes 20-25 minutes to cook. You should always use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature just to be sure, but this is a basic rule to follow!
- Place the ham cut-side down. If it’s spiral-sliced, this keeps the moisture where you need it.
- Let the ham rest. 5-10 minutes makes slicing cleaner and keeps the juices from running all over the cutting board.
- Keep it juicy. If you’re serving a spiral-cut ham, spoon a little of the cooking liquid between slices before glazing to keep it extra moist.
How to store leftover ham:
Store leftover ham in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Reheat slices gently in a covered dish with a splash of the reserved juices or glaze to keep them moist.
You can also freeze leftovers for up to 2 months! Make sure to thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

Serving suggestions:
Some of my favorite comforting side dishes that I love to pair with this ham are Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Homemade Creamed Corn, and Baked Mac and Cheese! Then, I like to finish out the meal with some Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls and Roasted Green Beans (for a little green)!
If you’re planning a holiday feast, pair the ham with Scalloped Potatoes, Homemade Dinner Rolls, and a classic Green Bean Casserole!
And if you have leftovers, they’re wonderful in Ham and Bean Soup, easy Ham and Cheese Sliders, or a Cheesy Ham and Potato Casserole for a simple breakfast or brunch.
Crockpot Ham with Pineapple Brown Sugar Glaze

Ingredients
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 6-8 lb bone-in ham
- 1 cup pineapple juice
For the glaze
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- ½ cup reserved ham juices
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar and mustard.
- Unwrap the ham and place in a 6 quart slow cooker, trimming to fit if necessary. Rub brown sugar mixture all over ham.
- Pour the pineapple juice into the slow cooker. Put the lid on and cook on low for 4 hours, or until an internal temperature of 140℉ is reached.
Glaze
- Whisk together 1 cup pineapple juice and corn starch in a medium saucepan.
- Strain juices from the crockpot and add ½ cup to the saucepan with the juice. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
- Cook until thickened, then taste and add 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar to taste as desired. If the glaze is saltier than you would like, add a couple tablespoons additional water. If you want to thicken further, simply stir together additional water and corn starch and add it in.
Notes
- Ham: you can use an uncut or spiral sliced ham, just keep in mind that a spiral sliced ham will heat through more quickly and may dry out if cooked too long.

- Juice alternatives: Orange juice or apple juice can stand in if pineapple juice isn’t available.
- Sweeter or milder glaze: Add more brown sugar for extra sweetness or water to tone down saltiness if your ham is heavily cured.
