Air Fryer Pork Chop Ingredients:

ingredients needed for air fryer pork chops in bowls and plate.
  • Thick-cut boneless pork chops: I prefer boneless pork chops for this recipe because they cook a little more quickly than bone-in chops.
  • Oil: I used canola oil for this recipe, but any oil will work.
  • Simple seasonings: Brown sugar, seasoning salt, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, ground mustard, pepper, and paprika make an incredibly flavorful rub. You can swap for simple salt and pepper or your favorite seasoning mixture if you like!

What kind of pork chops is best?

I like to look for a nice thick, boneless pork chop, at least 1 to 1.5 inches thick or as I can find. They will shrink down a bit as they cook in the air fryer.

You can definitely use bone-in pork chops here, but they will take longer to cook so be sure to check with a meat thermometer.

If your pork chops are less than 1″ thick, they will cook more quickly, so it’s important to reduce and check them earlier so they are not overcooked.

How to make air-fried pork chops:

The air fryer does all the work in this recipe! Check out the recipe card for the full list of recipe instructions.

  • Add the seasoning rub ingredients in a small bowl and mix.
  • Coat the pork chops in the mixture.
  • Place seasoned pork chops in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook until done. Serve with your favorite sides!

Tips for Success

  • Pat your pork chops dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture! This will help the outside of the pork chops crisp up instead of steaming.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket! Place the pork chops in a single layer to promote even cooking.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Add some spice: Add a bit of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the seasoning mix for a kick.
  • Fresh herbs: Swap in fresh thyme or rosemary for a fragrant, savory flavor.
  • Smoky: Use smoked paprika instead of regular paprika to add depth to the flavor.

How to store leftover pork chops:

Place leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months. Just let the chops thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating in the air fryer at 380ºF for 3-5 minutes.

Make juicy Air Fryer Pork Chops with this simple recipe! A few simple ingredients like boneless pork chops, oil, and seasonings create super juicy chops that are perfect for pairing with your favorite sides.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Cuisine American
Course Air fryer, Main Course
Servings 4 servings
Calories 203cal

Ingredients

  • 4 thick cut boneless pork chops about 1″ thick room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon ground mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 380℉
  • Trim fat or make a few slices through the fat strip on each pork chop with a sharp knife (this will prevent them from curling up).
  • Drizzle oil on pork chops. Combine brown sugar, seasoning salt, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, ground mustard, pepper and paprika. Sprinkle evenly over pork chops.
  • Spray basket of air fryer with non-aerosol cooking spray (or brush lightly with additional oil)
  • Place seasoned pork chops in basket and cook for 10-15 minutes. (*Note that thinner pork chops will cook more quickly. Check the temperature at the 10 minute mark — if they are nearing 145 degrees F then cook just a couple minutes more. The cook time will depend on the thickness of your pork chops)
  • Serve hot with your choice of sides.

Notes

This recipe originally was simply seasoned with salt and pepper, but we love our Baked Pork Chops rub so much I wanted to bring it over here too. You can skip the rub and season with salt and pepper if you wish.
Ingredients and Substitutions:
  • Brown Sugar: this doesn’t make the pork chops very sweet, but does add some sweetness. If you don’t like sweet meat, you can reduce to 1 tablespoon.
  • Seasoning salt: is a mixture of salt and other seasonings, so do not substitute with an equal amount of salt. If you don’t have seasoning salt, add ¾ to 1 teaspoon salt.

I have not yet, but will use bone-in rib chops, which are great breaded and baked or grilled. A little more frying time will be no problem for me. Look forward to trying these in my air fryer! Thank you, Ashley!
PS I will get thicker ones as you suggest…

I haven’t tried this recipe yet but will. Can I use my oven air fryer setting for this? We have 6 people in the house.

  3. Gwenyth says

I only had a thin cut boneless chop so adjusted cooking time to 10 minutes in total. They got a nice sear around the edge in that cooking time and were not dry. My 3 year old grand daughter said they were good so that is a win..

Pork chops can tend to be dry, but yours look so moist and delicious! I love the air-fryer for things like this.
