- Quick: Just toss everything in a blender and you’ll have a refreshing frozen drink in minutes!
Frozen Pina Colada Ingredients:
- Coconut milk: Provides the creamy coconut flavor that’s essential for a pina colada. Be sure to use the coconut milk from the carton (not the canned version, which is thicker and richer).
- Sweetened condensed milk: Adds the perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess.
- Vanilla extract: Adds a little extra warmth to the drink.
- Frozen pineapple: This brings the fruity and refreshing taste of pineapple, while keeping it frosty and cold. You can buy frozen pineapple from the frozen fruit section, or freeze your own using the instructions below!
- Ice: Ice helps achieve that slushy, icy texture!
- Sweetened whipped cream (optional): If you want to make this extra indulgent, topping it with whipped cream gives it a rich, creamy finish.

Variations and Substitutions
- Garnish: Add pineapple wedges and maraschino cherries for that classic Pina Colada vibe. You can also sprinkle some toasted coconut flakes on top for extra coconut flavor!
- Lime juice: Add a splash of lime juice to balance out the sweetness.
- Frozen yogurt or ice cream: swap the sweetened condensed milk and ice for vanilla frozen yogurt or ice cream for pineapple coconut milkshake instead.
How to freeze fresh pineapple for this drink:
Peel and core a fresh pineapple, then cut it into small chunks. Spread the pieces out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This helps the pieces freeze separately so they don’t stick together.
Put the sheet in the freezer for a few hours until the pineapple is frozen solid. Once frozen, add them to the blender along with the other ingredients, or pop them in the freezer into a ziplock bag for another time!
