Bacon Wrapped Asparagus is made with fresh asparagus, thin-cut bacon, and a sprinkle of garlic, salt, and pepper. It’s salty, crispy, and takes basic asparagus up a notch.
1lbfresh asparagus(washed, dried, and trimmed) about 16 stalks
¼teaspoonsalt
¼teaspoongarlic powder
⅛teaspoonpepper
Instructions
Lay bacon flat on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes until nearly firm (this is optional, but makes it a lot easier to slice!).
Preheat the oven to 425℉.
Remove bacon from the freezer and slice lengthwise into 3 strips each. They will thaw in minutes and then you can continue with the recipe.
Wrap a piece of bacon around each piece of asparagus -- you can do this as tightly or as loosely as you like, or use more than one strip as necessary.
Place back on the baking sheet and continue until each stalk is wrapped.
Combine the salt, garlic powder and pepper and sprinkle over asparagus.
Bake for about 20 minutes, turning half way, until the bacon is browned and crisp. Serve.

Notes
Ingredients and Substitutions:Asparagus: you can swap this with green beans or a bundle of green beans! You can also use a bundle of 3-4 stalks of asparagus if you like it firmer, as they will not cook as quickly.Bacon: I like to use regular thin cut bacon because it cooks more quickly and therefore does not overcook the asparagus.
