Ravioli Lasagna is my favorite kind of easy comfort food! Cheese ravioli replaces traditional lasagna noodles in this fun, filling recipe. Layers of cheese, Italian sausage and robust marinara sauce bring it all together!
375gramsItalian sausage(mild or spicy) about ¾ pound
1medium onion(finely diced)
4cupsmarinara or tomato pasta sauce
2clovesminced garlic
1teaspoonItalian seasoning
500gramsfrozen cheese ravioli(about 1 pound)
4cupsshredded mozzarella cheese
2tablespoonsshredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and lightly grease a 9×13" baking dish.
In a large skillet, cook Italian sausage and onion over medium heat until sausage is browned.
Stir in tomato sauce, garlic and Italian seasoning and simmer for a couple of minutes until onions are tender.
Spread ⅓ of the sauce into the bottom of a baking dish and top with half of the frozen ravioli. Top with 2 cups shredded mozzarella and another ⅓ of the sauce.
Top with the remaining ravioli, the last ⅓ of the sauce and remaining 2 cups cheese. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
Lightly grease a piece of tin foil and cover tightly. Bake for 30 minutes, or until ravioli are tender, then uncover and broil or brown the cheese as desired.

Ingredients and Substitutions:
Italian sausage: you can swap this for ground beef, or Italian turkey sausage if you prefer. If you choose an option without added seasonings, keep in mind that you'll want to add some flavor back in.
Ravioli: you can swap this for any kind of ravioli you prefer, or use tortellini instead.
