Instructions
Preheat the grill to 400 degrees or medium-high heat.
Clean potatoes and dry them well, leave the potato skins on for the best flavor.
Spread salt evenly over a rimmed plate.
Rub potatoes evenly with oil and roll in the salt on the plate.
Wrap the entire potato with foil and pierce once or twice through the foil and potato using a metal skewer. Repeat with all the potatoes.
Place your foil packets on direct heat and cook for 40-60 minutes -- the total cooking time will depend on how hot your grill stays and how large your potatoes are. I try to choose small russet potatoes and they take about 40 minutes to cook.
Serve hot with your favorite toppings!
Notes
Storage:
Store: Store baked potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Allow them to cool to room temperature before putting them in the fridge.
Reheat: Reheat baked potatoes in the oven or on the grill at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, you can chop the potato up and heat the pieces in a skillet with oil to warm up and re-crisp.
