Air Fryer French Toast is the perfect way to start your day! Made with crusty French bread in an eggy batter, it's warmly spiced with cinnamon sugar and vanilla. Ready in just 15 minutes it's perfect for busy mornings and brunches!
3tablespoonsgranulated sugar(or another sweetener)
1teaspooncinnamon
½cupmilk
½teaspoonvanilla extract
4eggs
Instructions
Slice French bread into 1" slices. Stir together sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F.
Whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla in a shallow dish until combined. (The dish should be big enough to lay a piece of your sliced bread in to fully coat it.) Then, add half of the cinnamon sugar, this will help to prevent the cinnamon from clumping.
Place a piece of parchment paper in the bottom of the air fryer basket and spray it with non-aerosol non-stick spray.
Dip each bread slice in egg mixture, making sure it is coated on both sides. Remove the slice of bread from the egg mixture and allow the excess batter to run off back into the dish. Place the slice laying flat on the parchment in the air fryer.
Repeat with all of the bread slices you can fit, in a single layer (you may have to do more than one batch). Sprinkle extra cinnamon sugar on top of the slices.
Cook the slices until they are golden brown, this will take about 5 minutes, before flipping them over and cooking until the other side is golden brown too.
Serve hot with fresh berries and maple syrup, or a dusting of powdered sugar!
Notes
To Store: Store cooked French toast in an airtight container or plastic bag in the fridge for 3-5 days.To reheat, simply warm in the microwave, toast in the oven, or heat in the air fryer until heated through. To Freeze: Cook the French toast slices and let them cool completely before transferring them to a baking sheet in a single layer.Put the full baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes, until the slices have just frozen.Once frozen, transfer the slices to a ziplock bag and freeze for up to 3 months, separating them with pieces of parchment paper so they don't stick together. To serve, bake at 350ºF in the oven for 10 minutes (or until heated through), or reheat in the toaster or in the Air Fryer!
