These Christmas Crack Blondies are a mash-up of two favorite desserts: gooey blondie bars and crunchy Christmas Crack (that famous saltine cracker toffee).

A chewy, buttery bar studded with bites of caramel, chocolate, and a little salty crunch in every bite.

Yes, you’ll need a batch of Christmas Crack ready to go, but trust me, it’s worth it. You’ll have plenty left for snacking, gifting, or making a double batch of these blondies.

Bring them to a cookie exchange, wrap them up for holiday gifting, or stash them in the freezer for a sweet surprise later!

Ingredients for Christmas Crack Blondies:

ingredients needed for christmas crack blondies in bowls.
  • Brown sugar: Light or dark brown sugar both work, though dark will make the bars slightly deeper in flavor.
  • Salted butter: Using salted butter balances the sweetness, especially since the Christmas Crack is rich and sweet on its own. If you only have unsalted, add an extra pinch of salt.
  • Egg: Just one egg helps bind the blondies while keeping them soft and chewy.
  • Vanilla extract: For a depth of flavor.
  • All-purpose flour: Measure correctly by spooning and leveling so they don’t turn out too dense!
  • Salt: Just a pinch makes the flavors pop.
  • Christmas Crack: Chop it into bite-sized pieces so you get little pockets of chocolate-caramel-toffee goodness throughout!

How to make Christmas Crack Blondies:

Blondies and Christmas Crack are a match made in heaven! Make sure to check the recipe card for the full list of instructions.

  • Chop the Christmas Cracking bite-sized pieces.
  • Whisk together the wet ingredients.
  • Whisk in the dry ingredients.
  • Fold in chopped Christmas Crack pieces.

Tip for the perfect Christmas Crack Blondies:

Don’t skip the quick chill of the batter before adding the candy. Otherwise, the chocolate will melt right into the dough.

How to store Christmas Crack Blondies:

Store blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the fridge for up to 1 week.

To freeze, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving!

Variations and Substitutions

  • Add-ins: Mix in a handful of chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or M&Ms for extra texture.
  • Festive look: Sprinkle holiday sprinkles on top of the batter before baking.
  • Bigger batch: Double the recipe and bake in a 9×13 pan for parties.
  • Caramel drizzle: Warm caramel sauce drizzled over cooled blondies makes them extra decadent.

Make-ahead option:

Christmas Crack Blondies are a great make-ahead dessert. You can prep the batter, fold in the Christmas Crack, and refrigerate (covered) for up to 24 hours before baking.

Or bake, cool, and freeze the blondies whole. Slice them after thawing for the cleanest cuts.

Can I use store-bought toffee instead?

Yes, chopped toffee or even Skor bits work in a pinch, though the blondies won’t have the same signature flavor as with Christmas Crack.
